Another Children’s Poem

Tolerant people are only tolerant of tolerant people and intolerant of intolerant people.   So they are in fact not really tolerant but are rather intolerant of intolerance.

A Shot at a Childrens Story

In Cowville there once was a cow which was born
Stuck right in his mouth was a very small horn
And then it so happened that when it ate corn
That cow with a horn eating corn that was born
Could trumpet the loudest or cowdest of storms

One day in Cowville the cow with a horn
Was grazing along when he stepped on a thorn
And never in Cowville, & evr’y cow’d sworn
Had any cow ever made such a strange moan
As the cow with the horn eating corn with a thorn

In Cowville each cow tried to pull out the thorn
The stubborn thorn in the cow with the horn
Just then a cowvillian cow found corn
Forlorn the cow with the thorn ate the corn
Then blasted his horn and out popped the thorn

And there on the ground lay the object of scorn
That nasty old thorn in the cow with the horn
No longer forlorn he felt so adorn
Especially grateful to the cow who found corn
That saved the cow with the horn from the thorn

In visiting Cowville you need to be warned
That now there’s much more than one cow with a horn
And because their main staple is on the cob corn
The only relief is evening till morn
If you do go then look for the cow with the horn
With a scar on his foot from a stubborn scorned thorn

Inspirational Thought of the Day

June 1, 2006

I don’t have the most uplifting work environment.  Metrosexualphobe Boss Man believes employees are like dogs to be kicked around (pretty much direct quote).  So this morning I got into my car and fired it up.  Pulling out of the driveway blowing kisses to my wife I noticed my sunglasses on the passenger seat.  I picked up those sunglasses, slid them on and stole a glimpse of myself in the rear-view mirror.  It was at that instant that the ‘Inspirational Thought of the Day’ poured out like the water of a clogged toilet:
